Mumbai. Readers welcome once again to delectable desserts. Today, I bring to you a small lesson in baking. Following are two recipes that are bound to make you a popular person on the block. Chocolate Chip Cookies and Black Forest Cake are two baked delights that are loved by millions round the globe. So, if you wish to try your hand at making these delights for your loved ones just try out these recipes. I am sure you will find them easy and the fruits of your labor will be sweet and mouth-watering.
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
INGREDIENTS:
- Refined flour – 200 grams
- Icing Sugar – 100 grams
- Brown Sugar – 100 grams
- Butter – 100 grams
- Egg – 1 no.
- Bittersweet chocolate chips – 100 grams
- Vanilla Essence – ¼ tsp
METHOD:
- In a bowl take butter and cream the sugars.
- Now add the egg and vanilla essence to this mixture and beat well.
- Sieve the flour and fold into this batter along with chocolate chips.
- Now place teaspoonfuls of this cookie mixture into a greased baking tray and bake in preheated oven at 1750C for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on wire rack for few minutes. Now pack them in an air tight container. (Do not pack the cookies in the box when they are warm let them cool only then pack them)
BLACK FOREST CAKE :
INGREDIENTS:
- Refined flour – 80 grams
- Icing Sugar – 85 grams
- Cocoa Powder – 10 grams
- Butter – 50 grams
- Egg – 3 nos.
- Baking Powder – ½ tsp
- Vanilla Essence – ¼ tsp
- Bittersweet Chocolate (Grated) – 100 grams
- Fresh Whipped Cream – 200 grams
- Maraschino cherries – 150 grams
METHOD:
- Preheat oven at 2000C.
- Sieve the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder together and keep aside.
- Melt the butter and keep aside.
- Now in a bowl beat the eggs well and add sugar. Beat again until you get a thick consistency.
- Fold in the flour mixture and melted butter simultaneously into this egg mixture.
- Pour the batter in a greased and dusted baking dish (meant for half kg cake).
- Immediately place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes at 2000C.
- Pull out from oven and allow it to cool well.
- Cut two or three layers of the cake depending upon the desired thickness of layer you want.
- Now take the base layer and cover it with cream, chopped cherries and grated chocolate. Place the second layer over it and repeat the same.
- Now when you place the final layer cover the entire cake with the whipped cream. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top as well as on the sides of the cake.
- Garnish the top of the cake with Maraschino cherries.
- Serve immediately for enhanced pleasure.
